How to Turn an Impossible Idea into an AI Image
By the Stilllight team ·
A guide to our own product, not an independent review.
What if a city lived inside a glass sphere, with a whale drifting above its rooftops? Start with that one impossible relationship. Then give it a setting, a light source and a composition. A useful image prompt explains what matters instead of piling on adjectives.
We used Stilllight to create three related scenes: an ocean city, a train above the clouds and a garden on the moon. Each image was generated with Pro, 1K portrait, 9:16, one image per request. The recorded outputs were 864 × 1536 pixels. Each request used 2 credits; the three-image set used 6. These are examples from our own creation session, not a promise that your output will match exactly. Review the current total and model availability before submitting.
1. Start with a surprising subject: an ocean city

An impossible luminous ocean city inside a monumental transparent glass sphere, a graceful enormous blue whale suspended above tiny art-deco buildings, a single warm gold railway spirals through the city and climbs into rose and lavender clouds toward a tiny distant moon. Cinematic surreal visual concept, turquoise water and midnight blue shadows, amber windows, delicate glass caustics, astonishing scale, sophisticated photographic textures, sweeping depth, main whale and city centered in a tall portrait composition. No people, no lettering, no logo, no watermark.
Create your ocean cityThe key relationship is the enormous whale above a tiny city. The glass sphere provides a boundary; amber windows give the small buildings a readable source of light. For your own variation, start by changing one element, such as the environment or central creature. These variations are suggestions, not additional generated examples.
2. Give the world a journey: a train above the clouds

A luminous midnight-blue passenger train with warm amber windows curves toward us across a delicate golden railway suspended in immense rose and lavender clouds, a tiny turquoise ocean world glows far below, a huge pearl moon rises ahead. Cinematic surreal visual concept, dramatic aerial three-quarter view, coherent elegant art-deco design, tangible cloud texture, subtle bloom, rich midnight shadows, main train centered in tall portrait composition. No people, no lettering, no logo, no watermark.
Create your cloud trainThis scene repeats the blue, gold and lavender palette and the railway motif. That is an art-direction choice, not a claim that the model guarantees consistent objects across independent requests. Keeping a few visual anchors can make a set feel related while leaving room for different compositions.
3. Choose a destination: a lunar garden

A luminous lunar garden at the final station of an impossible journey: translucent turquoise flowers and delicate lavender trees glow across silver moon dust, a midnight-blue passenger train with warm amber windows has arrived along a fine golden railway, enormous blue Earth suspended in black velvet sky. Cinematic surreal visual concept, intimate low foreground flowers opening into vast celestial depth, sophisticated photographic textures, strong center composition in tall portrait format. No people, no lettering, no logo, no watermark.
Create your lunar gardenThe foreground flowers and distant Earth describe two scales at once. If your result feels cluttered, simplify the scene before requesting another image: choose one main subject and remove a secondary object. Check the framing and lighting, then make one deliberate change rather than submitting many near-identical requests.
Try your own idea in Stilllight
Write one sentence answering: What is the subject, and what is impossible about its world? Add the setting, two or three palette choices, a light source and the framing. Select a supported image model, review the total credits, submit once, inspect the result and download it. Each new generation uses the amount displayed before submission.
Create your own impossible worldQuestions before you start
Are these generated videos?
No. These examples are still images. Any accompanying film uses post-production camera moves and editing; it does not demonstrate model-generated movement.
Will the same prompt produce the same image?
Do not expect an identical result. Treat these prompts as starting points for your own composition.
Can I use an image commercially?
Check the current Stilllight plan, applicable terms and any third-party rights for your intended use. This article does not grant a blanket commercial licence.
Can I generate unlimited variations?
No unlimited-use promise is made. Review the current credit quote, balance, availability and capacity notice before each request.
