Turn an everyday object into a surreal AI video
Make a familiar object do one impossible thing. In this real Stilllight example, a slice of toast lifts off, glides across a kitchen counter and lands on a plate—all in one short shot.

Make your version
- Find the example. Open https://stilllightai.com/, choose Video, then scroll to Get inspired → Toast Takeoff. Play the preview and read About this Stilllight example on its card.
- Load the template. Click the title/Use prompt action. The page scrolls up to the editable form; loading does not spend credits. Loaded the wrong template? Before editing, return to the original Toast card and choose Undo template there to restore your previous draft.
- Change one phrase. In Describe your scene, try replacing “warm morning light” with “cool overcast daylight”. This is an ungenerated practice variation. Leave the action unchanged so you have one clear change to inspect.
- Check the settings and price. Use Text to Video, Seedance 2.0 Mini · 5s · 720P · 9:16 · Sound off, with no reference image. You are creating a five-second silent personal video, charged at the current total shown beside Generate video. The recorded example cost 11 credits; always use the quote displayed for your settings.
- Generate when ready. If asked to sign in, return to the form and recheck your text and total. When the form permits submission and you are happy with the cost, select Generate video once. Follow the task’s status while it works.
- Watch and download. When you see Your video is ready, play the Preview and check the toast’s shape, flight and landing. Select Download video to save it. You can reopen the saved task under Your videos, or use Copy prompt to keep the idea for another version.
How the prompt gives the shot a clear shape
A single slice of toast, with its wings already present in the opening frame.
A short flight with a finish: rise, glide, land and settle.
A toaster, a nearby plate and warm kitchen light make the destination easy to read.
A side-on tracking shot keeps the action in view.
For your next idea, give one familiar object a small, surprising action and a clear place to stop.
The original prompt and two practice variations
Original prompt used for the Stilllight example
One golden slice of toast with two tiny soft butter wings is already rising above a plain unbranded cream toaster at the first frame. The wings are present from the start. The toast glides a short distance above the kitchen counter and lands gently on a nearby white plate, then its little wings settle. One continuous side-on tracking shot, clear single-subject flight and landing, warm morning light, charming polished 3D surreal comedy, coherent toast shape, no people, no lettering, no logos.
The two exercises below have not been generated or visually verified. Choose one change and keep the other wording and settings intact.
Ungenerated exercise A — change the light
Replace “warm morning light” with “cool overcast daylight” to explore a cooler mood.

Ungenerated exercise B — change the plate colour
Replace “a nearby white plate” with “a nearby pale-blue plate”. Check whether the new result follows that colour request.

What is in the example?
The original Mini output is a silent, roughly 5.04-second video at 720 × 1280 pixels. Its wings look feather-like rather than butter. The website preview preserves that motion; we cleaned small generated lettering on the toaster locally in post-production.
The separate seven-second social edit adds AI voice, music, effects and text afterward. Loading this silent template does not automatically generate that soundtrack or finished edit.
Current video terms are personal-use only; the image commercial licence does not extend to video.

Having trouble?
Not enough credits: View plans opens the existing options. A daily reset does not add wallet credits.
A daily or shared-capacity limit: follow the notice in the form. Buying credits does not remove that limit.
Waiting or disconnected: five seconds is the clip length, not the generation wait. Check the existing task before creating another paid request.
A failed task: review its status and credit return. A completed result you dislike is not automatically a technical failure. Before trying again, change one specific thing and check the new quote.
